Planning approval for Dow HQ at Cheadle Royal
Dow is a step closer to moving into its new UK & Ireland headquarters at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport following planning approval from Stockport Council.
The materials science company has pre-let a two-floor, 26,080 sq. ft. self-contained unit to house its national management team, technical and sales office, and a product research and development (R&D) facility.
Cheadle Royal Business Park is a £175m development delivered by national urban regeneration and development specialists, Muse Developments. Set in mature parkland close to major national and international transport links such as Manchester Airport, it benefits from access to a range of on-site amenities, including shops, bars, restaurants and health facilities.
Dow is a Fortune 50 global multinational, which was founded in 1897 in Michigan, USA; and has been operating in the UK since the 1950s. Today, it combines the power of science and technology to seek innovative solutions for a variety of industries, including packaging, consumer care and infrastructure.
Greg Ball, development surveyor at Muse, said: “Gaining planning approval for this bespoke building is a key milestone for Cheadle Royal, which means that we can now progress with delivering this fantastic new addition to the business park.
“Attracting Dow is a significant accomplishment, which will bring highly-skilled jobs to the area and we look forward to welcoming them to their new home.”
John Case, president UK & Ireland, Dow said: “We look forward to seeing our new UK & Ireland headquarters in Cheadle Royal start to take shape this summer, as the state-of-the-art facilities will support our continued growth.”
Construction is anticipated to begin in June this year, with the development completing in Spring 2020.
Other businesses currently based at Cheadle Royal, include Together Money, Jarden and Agilent Technologies.
