New football strips for Salford primary school
Pupils at St Philip’s CE Primary School are ready for their next match after being kitted out by Vimto Gardens and English Cities Fund.
The year five and six pupils have received their new kits and are ready to put them into practice.
PE co-ordinator Tim Hayward said: “The kids look great in their new kits and it’s really positive for the school to have such close links with Vimto Gardens, as it’s right on our doorstep. We’re all looking forward to putting them to good use in PE – hopefully we’ll be playing as well as the new kits deserve!”
Vimto Gardens is on Salford’s Chapel Street, adjacent to St Philip’s school. The first residents moved in to the 97-home development just before Christmas, with the remainder of the homes set to be ready to move into this spring.
Vimto Gardens is part of the Salford Central regeneration scheme, which is being delivered by English Cities Fund (ECf) – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA) – through an active partnership with Salford City Council.
The HCA invested £3.4million through its ‘Get Britain Building’ fund to make the scheme happen following the economic downturn.
Phil Mayall, development director at ECf, said: “We want Vimto Gardens to form a key part of the community so we’re delighted to continue our support of St Philips, as the nearest primary school and the one that our residents’ children will most likely attend. The kids look brilliant in their new kits – hopefully their footie skills will be a match for the opposition!”
Dubbed Salford’s newest and coolest development, Vimto Gardens has been designed to put the fun back into urban living, with a communal first-floor garden, city centre parking and amenities right on the doorstep – including a number of commercial units on the ground floor of the development.
Just 22 homes at Vimto Gardens remain available to buy; a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £113,950. Almost 80 per cent of the homes have already been sold, just seven months after the development launched. All homes are available through the Help To Buy scheme.
The sales office is now open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. To book an appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0161 300 8546.
