Muse praised for Lingley Mere amenity building
Muse Developments and Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) have been recognised for the quality of their work in creating a contemporary £1.2 million amenity building at Lingley Mere Business Park.
The stunning facility at the Warrington-based business park was named ‘Best Commercial Building’ by Warrington Borough Council at its Building Control Excellence Awards.
The Council also nominated the project for the North West Local Authority Building Awards alongside other high-profile projects from across the region.
Tony Gartside, Warrington’s Building Control Manager, said the project had received the Council’s accolade in recognition of the ‘high level of workmanship and attention to detail’. He also praised the ‘outstanding quality’ of the finished development.
The building is now occupied by catering specialist Autograph – part of the Initial Group – after the company signed a lease agreement with the park’s joint venture partners, Muse Developments and United Utilities (UU).
The building, covering 7,500 sq ft, is situated in the centre of the development between the park’s two lakes.
The amenity building incorporates an elevation of full-length curved glazing to maximise the south-facing view of the surroundings and also features an extended brise-soleil, where people can sit outside in the tranquil setting of the 100 acres of open parkland.
Steve Burke, Managing Director of West Lancashire-based CPUK, said: “We are delighted that our work in delivering this stylish, well-designed building has been recognised.
“It was a pleasure to work on such a high-profile joint venture involving two major companies like Muse and United Utilities.
“As the local authority has recognised, we delivered a quality building which is now a fantastic amenity for Lingley Mere and the people who work there.”
Wes Erlam, Senior Development Surveyor at Muse Developments, said: “The building has been designed to complement the natural surroundings of Lingley Mere and we are extremely pleased with the outcome.
“The building is now providing an excellent range of on–site amenities, including hot and cold food, a coffee shop, and meeting space with WiFi. The new facility is being enjoyed by existing occupiers and we hope it will also prove attractive to companies considering relocating to Lingley Mere.
“CPUK should be congratulated for the way in which it delivered the project and the high standard of its building work and attention to detail on site.”
The building project also included the creation of an access road and parking, landscaping and the renewal of lakeside footpaths, all carried out by CPUK.
Robin Uttley, Head of Commercial Property at United Utilities, said: “As a joint venture, we remain committed to creating a unique and high quality business environment that will meet the needs of a wide range of businesses in the region.
“The success of the modern amenity building is yet another demonstration of our dedication to invest in both the park’s infrastructure and services.”
