Muse celebrates double award win
Muse Developments is celebrating after picking up two gongs at this year’s prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards, for its Stockport Exchange and Timekeepers Square schemes.
The annual regional awards ceremony showcases the most inspirational initiatives and development in land, property, construction and the environment.
In the commercial category, Stockport Exchange, developed in partnership with Stockport Council, beat off stiff competition thanks to the creation of a new business district in the town, including Grade A offices, a ‘best in class’ hotel, leisure facilities, retail and an onsite car parking, all set around new public squares.
Timekeepers Square took the spoils in the regeneration category and is the second residential development in the area from the English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England. The scheme forms part of the wider Salford Central regeneration, which is breathing new life into both the Chapel Street and New Bailey areas of the city.
Phil Mayall, regional director at Muse Developments was delighted with the news. He said: “To win one RICS Award in the North West is a significant achievement, but to win two in both the residential and commercial arenas is testament to the hard work of colleagues and partners alike.
“Bringing together the best of what the public and private sector has to offer is absolutely key to the success of any programme of regeneration and we are proud to accept these accolades on behalf of everyone involved.”
Both regional winners will now be in the running for the coveted national Project of the Year Award.
