Muse’ double North West Insider win
Muse Developments has been crowned ‘Developer of the Year’ and took home the gong in the Refurbishment category, for their Mackie Mayor development at this year’s 20th Insider North West Property Awards, which took place last night.
Dubbed the ‘property Oscars’, over 1,000 leading industry figures from across the North West gathered at Manchester Central to celebrate the sector’s success over the last 12 months.
The Developer of the Year category was tough with four other companies vying for the award including: Allied London, Urban Splash, Henry Boot Developments and Harworth Group. Muse took top spot after judges were impressed with the company’s wide spread of high-quality regeneration across the region.
In the Refurbishment category, Muse’ Mackie Mayor beat off strong competition from first-class buildings, including: Shoosmiths, Avenue HQ, JTI, Ropewalks and NCC Group headquarters.
Phil Mayall, regional director at Muse Developments, was delighted with the win. He said: “We are very proud to be named Developer of the Year, as well as receiving the Refurbishment award for our Mackie Mayor scheme. These prestigious accolades recognise our commitment to the region’s property sector and were made possible thanks to the hard work of both colleagues and partners alike.
“Our various schemes across the North West are progressing considerably and we look forward to the next 12 months, as we continue to contribute to the success of the region.”
Following a record number of entries, Muse were also shortlisted twice in the Deal of the Year category, for the sale of One City Place, Chester and the forward funding of Two New Bailey Square, Salford respectively; along with their English Cities Fund joint venture with Homes England and Legal & General receiving a nod in the Public Private Partnership category.
A spokesperson from North West Insider Media, added: “An amazing year for Muse, which in many ways is a celebration of developments outside the Manchester city centre core. A strong regional spread, Muse’s presence can be felt in Salford, Chester, Warrington and Stockport. If this is the year that the ‘northern power towns’ really shine, Muse’s success instils a sense that there is much more to come.”
Over the past two decades, the Insider Property Awards North West has become the go-to commercial property event in the North West. More than 1,000 people attend each year, with the biggest names in property development gathering to celebrate their successes and the success of the region.
