Vimto Gardens, Salford

Delivered by The English Cities Fund – our joint venture with Legal & General Property and Homes England - Vimto Gardens was the first phase of homes at our wider Salford Central scheme.

Salford Central is one of our flagship mixed-use regeneration schemes, covering over 50 acres of land adjoining the River Irwell in Salford, which has repurposed two key areas in the city to create a vibrant destination with excellent connectivity. The scheme is split into two distinct areas with Chapel Street providing a series of homes for all, alongside leisure facilities, and New Bailey – formally a surface car park adjacent to Manchester’s Spinningfields – which is now one of the premier commercial quarters in the region.

The first residential phase, Vimto Gardens, was completed in 2015 and brought forward 83 high-specification apartments and 14 townhouses, alongside retail and leisure space designed to bring people back into the heart of the city.

The much-loved soft drink, Vimto, was once produced only 400 metres away from our Vimto Gardens development. Vimto relocated from Chapel Street to bigger premises in 1927, but the iconic drink left behind a positive legacy for the fund to bring back, thanks to its contemporary style.
