Project Description

Salford Central is a major mixed-use regeneration of over 50 acres of Salford’s civic and historic centre being delivered by The English Cities Fund, in partnership with Salford City Council. The scheme has the potential to deliver three million sq ft of new development: including over 2.2 million sq ft of commercial space, 280,000 sq ft of active uses (managed workspace, creative industries, leisure, community uses etc), a hotel and 849 new homes. When complete it will create an estimated 11,000 new jobs.

Chapel Street

 The revitalisation of the old city of Salford has created a high-quality environment for living and working, with a vibrant collection of shops, cafes and bars. New public squares and green spaces provide attractive vistas along Chapel Street.

The first phase of residential development, Vimto Gardens, was completed in 2015 comprising 83 apartments and 14 townhouses with commercial and retail space on the ground floor.

 A second phase of residential development, Timekeepers Square, completed in December 2016. The development comprises 36 Georgian informed townhouses located in the stunning surroundings of the Grade 2 listed neo-classical Church of St Philip's and opposite Salford Cathedral.

 Carpino Place is a third residential phase of development which completed in December 2017. The project comprised a development of 22 three storey 3 and 4-bedroom townhouses.

New Bailey

New Bailey is a high-density corporate district. Developments completed to date are a 143-bed Premier Inn hotel, 2 multi-storey car parks, 125,000 sq ft office development, One New Bailey and 11,000 sq ft, Riverside House.

Construction at Two New Bailey Square is now underway, which when complete will offer 190,000 sq ft of Grade A, BREEAM ‘Excellent’ space. Three New Bailey also started on site in early 2019, the new 157,000 sq ft Grade A office building marks another significant milestone for the wider New Bailey scheme.

The Slate Yard comprises three phases of residential development totalling 425 new homes. Phases one and two are complete and constructionbegan on phase three in September 2018, with completion anticipated in 2021.
