Manchester Victoria
Muse is Network Rail’s development partner for the redevelopment of 2.5 acres of surplus land, known as the Fishdock, adjacent to Manchester Victoria Station. The scheme will provide approximately 500,000 sq ft of commercial office space in two buildings with large floorplates in excess of 22,000 sq ft. Active uses such as restaurants, coffee shops and bars are planned for the ground floor areas and car parking will be provided beneath both the buildings themselves and the new public realm.
Victoria Station itself is set to be transformed into a station for the 21st century through a £25 million refurbishment programme. 35,000 passengers and commuters currently use Victoria Station every day and this is expected to rise to 55,000 passengers by 2018.
