Chatham Place, Reading

Chatham Place, Reading

Chatham Place is a £100m mixed-use development being developed by Muse in partnership with Reading Borough Council at the western end of Reading town centre.  Linking into the existing core and extending the high street to the west, the regeneration of this part of the town centre is a major part of the Council’s Reading City 2020 vision.

Muse has secured outline approval for an overall development of 1.1 million sq ft on 11 acres.  The first phase of development was completed in 2009.  This included a multi-storey public car park,  affordable homes, 211 private apartments and substantial public open spaces.  There is also 10,000 sq ft of retail/ leisure space.

This mix of uses has helped create a vibrant new destination for local people and visitors alike, with a dynamic mix of residential, retail, commercial, leisure and community facilities situated around new public spaces and streets.

Design work for Phase 2 is now under way.
