Places for People relocates to South Rings

13 Feb 2009  -  Places for People, one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK, is relocating its 300 strong workforce to Muse Developments’ South Rings business park, in Central Lancashire.

A new 36,000 sq ft building will provide Grade A office accommodation to enable the company to undertake its customer call centre role under one roof.

Places for People, which also provides a range of social support services including affordable childcare, elderly care and financial services, has relocated from Preston to the site.

South Rings, which has been a Muse Developments’ scheme for 10 years, is situated at the intersection of three major motorways - the M6, M65 and M61 - giving it unrivalled access to the north west region.

Darran Lawless, development director at Muse Developments, said: “South Rings is one of the first true business parks to be developed for the region. Many of the existing out of town office parks in the area have previously had an industrial focus, whereas South Rings has been designed to provide a high quality environment with purpose built office space at its conception.

“Its location benefits from great local amenities as well as excellent transport infrastructure, which allows it to serve a very large catchment area, with easy access to places such as Preston, Chorley, Leyland and Blackburn.”

The 37 acre park is already home to businesses including B&Q, a Premier Inn hotel, Burger King, and the Walton Fox pub.

Darran added: “The original masterplan allows for further design and build opportunities, from 7,500 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft, and now enjoys the benefit of a planning consent and site infrastructure already in place.

“We are in detailed discussions with occupiers interested in taking space in two further office buildings of around 30,000 sq ft each and we’re hoping to develop extra facilities including childcare provision and two smaller office buildings on the site later in the year.”
