Muse Developments has been appointed by Warrington Borough Council as development partner to realise the council’s ambitious regeneration plans for Bridge Street in Warrington town centre following a competitive tender process.

One of the largest regeneration projects in the region - the £130 million Bridge Street Quarter will provide the town with shops, restaurants, a gym, cinema, new indoor market, cultural centre, hotel and council offices.

Darran Lawless, development director at Muse, said, “The announcement is fantastic news and a huge endorsement for Muse and its team of consultants.

“We have always believed that this development would be a great opportunity to work on a genuine mixed-use regeneration scheme which will not only change Warrington but also help residents enjoy a much wider range of facilities and services than ever before.”

Councillor Terry O’Neill, leader of the council said, “These are exciting times for Warrington. This scheme will completely transform the town centre, bringing new jobs to the local area and providing the entertainment and leisure facilities that are currently missing but needed."

Construction is expected to begin in 2013 though a firm timetable of work will be developed in the coming months and shared as soon as available by Muse and the council’s regeneration team.

Muse is no stranger to Warrington, having previously worked on the Gemini Business Park and currently on the Lingley Mere business park in partnership with United Utilities.
