New appointments at Leeds office
Monday 12th July 2010
Simon Dew joins as senior development surveyor, and will play a key role on a number of Muse’s active schemes including the North Shore mixed-use development in Stockon-on-Tees. Simon spent nine years working with Henry Boot Developments and prior to this worked for English Partnerships (now the Homes & Communities Agency).
“I’m delighted to be joining Muse,” he said, “I’ve worked across a broad spectrum of developments, including retail and leisure schemes, business parks and mixed-use projects and I’m looking forward to using these skills in my new role.”
Also new to the Leeds office is Alan McBride who, as project manager, will be responsible for delivering a number of schemes including Merchant Gate - a £140m mixed-use urban development in the centre of Wakefield. Work on the next phase of this scheme will begin in August 2010 with the development of new offices for the city’s Metropolitan District Council.
Alan will also be working on the £100m Logic Leeds development - a 100-acre strategic employment site in the heart of the Aire Valley.
He joins Muse with a broad range of expertise having recently worked at Allied London Properties managing the prestigious Spinningfields scheme in Manchester.
Commenting on the new appointments, regional director Dan Needham said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon and Alan to the Leeds team. In these challenging times we are continuing to work on many exciting projects in the Yorkshire and North East regions and nationally.”
Muse Developments specialises in delivering complex mixed-use schemes, predominantly in town and city centre locations. In addition to the Northshore, Merchant Gate and Logic Leeds developments, the company’s Yorkshire and North East portfolio includes Doncaster Waterdale – a new civic and cultural quarter which has just received planning permission for its first phase.
Muse Developments is part of Morgan Sindall Group plc, a leading UK construction and regeneration group operating through four divisions of Fit Out, Construction & Infrastructure, Affordable Housing and Urban Regeneration, which are supported by a specialist Investment unit.
