ECf Donates World Cup Tickets
Monday 18th November 2013
Children at St Philip’s C of E primary school felt like they’d won the trophy last week as 30 members from years five and six attended the Rugby League World Cup match, thanks to English Cities Fund (ECf) that donated the tickets.
For many of the children – from the school in Barrow Street, central Salford – it was the first time they had attended a live sporting event.
The school’s head teacher, Mrs Hazel Brady, was delighted to have been donated the tickets by ECf – which is currently working with Salford City Council to regenerate the Chapel Street area of the city where the school is located.
Talking of the event, she said: “The children were delighted to watch the Rugby League World Cup match live at the Salford City Stadium. It was such a huge game with an amazing atmosphere, making it one they’ll all remember for many years to come. We’re all very grateful to ECf, so thanks to them for the kind donation.”
As Salford City Council’s development partner for the Chapel Street scheme, ECf – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal and General Property and The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) – is extremely supportive of the local community.
Phil Mayall, development director at ECf, said: “Donating the tickets to the pupils at St Philip’s Primary School and their parents was a pleasure. We enjoy a superb relationship with the school and were happy to show our appreciation to them for their ongoing support of the development.”
