Doncaster Waterdale

Doncaster MBC have appointed Muse Developments as preferred bidder for the Waterdale development which will see a 60 acre site on the edge of the town centre transformed into a new civic and cultural quarter.

The landmark £300m civic and cultural quarter scheme will regenerate the town centre with facilities including a new performance venue, leisure facilities, new civic buildings (including a swimming pool and new library) and town centre homes. The project will also create high quality public space in the town centre.

Complementing the improvements already under way on the Waterfront, Frenchgate and Lakeside, it forms part of the wider urban renaissance plan to regenerate the whole area. The scheme will act as a further boost to Doncaster by creating more than 1,500 permanent jobs, attracting 50,000 visitors a year to the performance venue and generating a further £18m for the Borough’s booming economy.
