Muse completes sale to award-winning accountancy firm
Muse Developments has completed the sale of an 8,500 sq ft office building at Cheadle Royal Business Park to award-winning accountancy practice, Clarke Nicklin.
This is the second sale to be agreed at the highly successful Oakfield site – the latest phase of office development, which provides flexible Grade A accommodation at the North West’s premier business park. The latest deal follows the arrival of international hearing care company, Ascent Investments, which moved to the business park earlier this year following the acquisition of a 7,500 sq ft building.
Clarke Nicklin, which has 40 employees, expects to relocate from its town centre premises to the contemporary office development by December 2009. The practice will join illustrious company at Cheadle Royal, which is already home to international brands, such as Umbro, Capita, Agilent and DeVere.
Andrew Baggott, partner at Clarke Nicklin, commented: “We’ve achieved considerable growth in recent years, expanding both our team and our range of specialist services.
“The purchase of a modern, state-of-the-art headquarters will help to build on that success. With its excellent location and unrivalled amenities, Cheadle Royal was head and shoulders above any other office development in the region, living up to its pedigree as the North West’s premier business park.”
The move forms part of the company’s ambitious plans to extend its presence in the region and highlights the continued investment potential that exists at Cheadle Royal – demonstrated by the recent sale of the Lakeside 5000 investment.
Wes Erlam, development surveyor at Muse Developments, added: “With 2,000 employees and 600,000 sq ft of high quality development, Cheadle Royal is the only business park in the North West to cater for such a diverse range of companies, from small-to-medium-sized enterprises to large multi-nationals.
“Clarke Nicklin’s relocation to Oakfield 3 is testament to the park’s versatility and demonstrates its continued appeal amongst ambitious and expanding businesses.”
Oakfield 3 comprises of five self-contained office buildings, ranging in size from 6,500 to 10,000 sq ft. The well detailed, two storey pavilion style buildings – designed by Bennett Architects – are available for purchase or lease.
David Thwaites, Associate Director at Lambert Smith Hampton’s (LSH) Manchester office, said: "Cheadle Royal is one of south Manchester’s leading business parks. Its overwhelming success is largely attributable to its exceptional mix of high-quality accommodation, excellent staff amenities and its desirable location close to the airport.
“With the strong levels of interest we have witnessed in the remaining three buildings of Oakfield 3, further disposals are expected before the end of the year.”
Clarke Nicklin was represented by Gorvins Solicitors and CD Property Consultancy. DTZ and Lambert Smith Hampton acted for Muse Developments.
