Salford Central will regenerate over 50 acres of Salford’s civic and historic centre. The scheme has the potential to deliver 3 million sq ft of new development: including over 2.2 million sq ft of commercial space, 280,000 sq ft of active uses (managed workspace, creative industries leisure, community uses etc), a hotel and 849 new homes.
In conjunction with Salford City Council, Muse has developed a comprehensive masterplan for the entire 50 acre site including the incorporation of some fine listed buildings. The key elements include Chapel Street - a new gateway to the city centre - and New Bailey, an exciting new extension to Manchester’s Central Business District.
At ‘Vimto Gardens’ a prodominantly residential scheme - with14 town houses, 83 apartments and a convenience store - is now complete, and a second phase of residential development, Timekeepers Square, is under construction. This second phase will deliver 36 town houses in a range of two, three and four bedroom designs.
New Bailey is a high value, high density corporate centre. A Premier Inn hotel, a multi-storey car park and a 125,000 sq ft office scheme, One New Bailey, have been completed and two PRS residential towers, with 90 and 135 apartment respectively, are under construction.
PlanetNew development will see the façades of many existing builidings (such as the Bell Tower building) retained and refurbished to ensure the distinctive character of the area remains. One New Bailey will be BREEAM ‘Excellent’.
PeopleNew public squares and green spaces will provide a setting for some of Salford’s finest architecture while new homes, shops, cafés and leisure opportunities will create business and leisure opportunities along Chapel Street.
ProfitThe revitalisation of the old city of Salford will create a new high quality environment for living and working. Our scheme will xpand the existing business district in this part of the city and create an estimated 11,000 new jobs.
